Free Ebook Review

Because I’m a big fan of Amazon having free promotional periods on some of their Kindle ebooks, I have a ton of free ebooks that I’ve saved for later reading. So, I figured, “why not review them if they’re good?” Hence, this new series of Free Ebook Reviews was born.

I selected Blog Prompts: 101 Creative Topics that Attract Customers, Invite Discussion and Help You Create a Loyal Legion of Fans as my first post in this series, because writing reviews is actually one of the prompts suggested by the author. 🙂

When you’re a new blogger, you probably have a gazillion ideas running around in your head for articles you’d like to write. But once you’ve been doing it for awhile, you sometimes have to really work at finding new topics to write about, and new ways to write about them.

I myself have had this problem before. My only regret is that I wish I had read it sooner (I just read it this week), because it is a great resource!

While one reviewer claims that it’s “common sense” stuff, for anyone who’s having a serious case of writer’s block, this is simply not true. There are prompts in here that I would never have thought of, and the other reviewers of this book feel the same way. In particular, I liked her “fill-in-the-blank” prompts. Here are some examples that jumped out at me:

The 10 Commandments of ____________

How Do You Know When You’ve __________

Lessons Learned from ___________

Why I Don’t Do __________

The author does not leave you hanging with empty blanks–she offers some guidance and other real-world examples about how to fill in those blanks. To me, it’s way more than 101 prompts, and worth the $2.99 it costs (sorry, it’s no longer free!). If you want to check it out, just click here to be taken to the Kindle Store.

(And remember, you don’t need a Kindle to read these books! You can read them on your computer, tablet, or smartphone with Amazon’s Kindle Reading Apps, which you can download here.)
